After some excellent days in Paris (even though Arne only got through 1/3 of the War Museum...) we have settled down in this small and obscure village somewhere in Champagne. More famous for its sparkling wine than its YWAM (Youth with a mission) base, it's still a very good place for us to be. Right honey?
Of course, kjekken...
So, what are we doing here? Wasn't this supposed to be vacation?!
We have the privilege to be volunteering at the base where our fellow Norwegian and Kristkirken folks, Vidar and Elisabeth with kids, are living and serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our project is to clean and fix a wall, pluss painting the fence on it. Let's have a quick look
Guess which parts that have been cleaned... Neat, isn't it?
Miriam and Arne Kristoffer are on holiday in Holland and France. We will be visiting friends, meeting new people, learning french, be tourists etc etc... Here we will let you take part in some of our experiences and adventures...

St. Emilion
Thursday and friday we were in a beautiful village, St. Emilion.
Our good friends, Faith & Luc, showed us this charming village with lots of narrow streets, nice shops, beautiful old buildings, winecellars, vineyards etc etc...
We had a romantic night at one of the many vineyard guesthouses, and its passionate owner showed us the vineyard and winecellar, and he arranged a session of winetasting for us. Here's some pictures, and (of course) another video :)

Bordeaux
We arrived in Bordeaux wednesday night after a long day with travelling. We were welcomed by Luc and Marc at the trainstation and we drove to Pompignac (aprox half an hour driving from Bordeaux centre), and we met our great hostfamily; the Gischlers!
Now we have allready been here more than a week having a lot of fun together with great people. Talking partly french, partly english and finishing off with hand language we have been able to communicate quite well, even joking around, having some pretty good laughs :)
Well, what have we been up to? Shopping, youth meeting, EATING, churchmeeting, tabletennis, EATING, seeing Arnes old university, reading, resting, being with great people, visiting some pretty impressive sights...
Check this out for example; "mirroir de l'eau", "vannspeilet":
and this: Dune du Pyla - a huge sand dune of 60mill m3 at the Atlantic coast *WAOW*
We will come back with more later...
Now we're going for St. Emilion, a small, very typical French village... More about that later :)

A short summary - the Netherlands
Our marvelous journey started with an excellent meal at Bergen Airport Flesland with Haaland seniors wishing us a great voyage to France, the land of the baguette. Well not just the baguette.. First a short detour to Holland, the land of the neat and orderly fashioned gardens (you better keep up with your neighbour or else...)
We met with the lovely Lenneke van Veen, the former DTS mentor of Miriam, who welcomed us to her sweet home in Nunspeet (approx 25000 habitants and 30000 flowers).
Day2: In Nunspeet, We'll give you the keywords: Outdoor breakfast in the sun, bicycling (of course...), sunbathing, sunburn and swimming in the local lake in the middle of the forest. Local food: Frikandel special (higly recommended!) at the local restaurant.
Day3: Amsterdam, sightseeing, channel bus, super guiding by our local host Lenneke, frozen yoghurt at Freeze. And the sun was indeed shining making the norwegians swet... (no surprise really for those who know Arne). Pancakes a la Holland and some Ligretto ended the day superbly.
